Food Service

Families must pre order meals for students. Orders must be in by 7:00 am in order to receive a breakfast or lunch that day. The system will not allow you to order after the time listed above. Students may only have one free breakfast and lunch a day, anything in addition will be charged to your account (extra entrée, milk, water, etc.) If your student wants milk only this is NOT free, students must pay for the milk if they only want milk. For your convenience, meals can be preordered up to 30 days in advance. To avoid any issues, we recommend ordering the night before.

Students may purchase ala carte or extra items in addition to a free meal using cash or money on their account.

Allergy Information

Federal regulations state that schools shall make substitutions in foods for students who are considered disabled and whose disability restricts their diet. NPS will accommodate special diets according to the following guidelines.

Food Allergies

Food substitutions will be made as required by the child’s physician for allergies covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act. A medical statement form is required as well as advance notification of the days the child will be eating lunch at school. All Medical Statement Forms must be updated at or before the beginning of each school year. Common allergens are listed for each item in Nutrislice.

The Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (FALCPA) requires food manufacturers to clearly list all allergens or their proteins which may be contained in foods. This includes the 8 major food allergens: milk, eggs, Fish (eg., bass, flounder, cod), Crustacean shellfish (e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp), tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans), peanuts, wheat, and soybeans. Manufacturers are NOT required to place advisory statements such as “processed in a facility” or “processed on equipment” These notices are voluntary.

As with any medical condition, if your child has an allergy, please contact the school office for more information. The health and safety of your child is very important to us, and we have procedures in place to help keep your child safe while in our care. The district nurse will work with you to create a plan for your child at school. A form such as the example below may be appropriate and requires your signature and that of your child's health care provider.

Vegetarianism

A meatless option is offered daily and is listed on the menu.
