Northville Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Emily Pohlonski as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services. Ms. Pohlonski brings extensive experience as an educator, principal, and director, and is recognized for her dedication to academic excellence and effective leadership in curriculum development and instructional strategies.
Ms. Pohlonski has served in various instructional leadership roles throughout her career, consistently championing student learning and educator growth. Her ability to guide teams through thoughtful curriculum development and enhancement, along with her dedicated focus on instructional pedagogy, has earned her the respect of professional educators statewide.
Ms. Pohlonski most recently held the position of Director of Secondary Education at Novi Community School District. She possesses a State of Michigan Administrator Certificate and holds a National Board Certification. Her educational background includes a Master's degree in Education and Technology from Michigan State University, a Master's degree in Curriculum and Teaching obtained in Thailand through Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Michigan State University. Additionally, she has been recognized with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
Ms. Pohlonski expressed her enthusiasm regarding her new opportunity, “I am absolutely thrilled to join the Northville Public Schools community as Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services! I was born in Northville, so this truly feels like coming home. It’s an honor to return and contribute to such an exceptional district. My husband Brent is a high school math teacher, and we have two daughters, Clara and Sasha, who are currently in high school. In my free time, I love reading poolside at the Northville Swim Club. We are all excited for this new chapter and so grateful for the warm welcome!"
