Northville Public Schools (NPS) is thrilled to announce that it has received two prestigious awards from the Michigan School Public Relations Association (MSPRA) for excellence in communications: the 2024 MSPRA Award of Excellence for the Mustang Moments Podcast in the Audio/Podcast category and the 2024 Award of Merit for the Classroom Close-Ups video series. These accolades mark the first time NPS has earned MSPRA awards, reflecting the district's commitment to innovative storytelling and meaningful engagement with the community.
Mustang Moments Podcast Wins Award of Excellence
The Mustang Moments Podcast, a series of interviews and stories from within the NPS community, won the MSPRA Award of Excellence for its outstanding work in audio storytelling. Launched under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Webber, Mustang Moments spotlights students, staff, and community members as they share their unique experiences and the impact of NPS on their personal and professional journeys. The podcast has become a beloved platform for celebrating the achievements and voices of Northville, with each episode offering an inspiring glimpse into the district’s culture and values.
Classroom Close-Ups Receives Award of Merit
NPS’s Classroom Close-Ups series was also honored with an MSPRA Award of Merit, recognizing its impact as a video storytelling initiative. Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to give families a virtual look into classrooms, Classroom Close-Ups has continued to grow in popularity. Through a close-up look at classroom activities and student projects, the series highlights the dedication of teachers and the vibrant learning experiences that make Northville schools exceptional. The videos have become a key part of the district’s communication efforts, with the community eagerly awaiting each new installment.
A New Milestone in Northville Communications
Receiving these awards is especially meaningful to Katie Rork, NPS’s Communications Specialist, who began her career in school public relations just three years ago. “I am beyond proud to have Mustang Moments and Classroom Close-Ups recognized by MSPRA. These projects started as a way to showcase our incredible school community, and it’s been inspiring to see them embraced and celebrated,” she shared. “I’m excited to keep bringing our community together through storytelling and sharing the amazing work happening across NPS.”
Both Mustang Moments and Classroom Close-Ups have strengthened NPS’s communication with students, families, and staff, and the recognition from MSPRA affirms the district’s dedication to transparent and engaging storytelling.

Northville Public Schools looks forward to building on this momentum, continuing to bring stories that celebrate the achievements, diversity, and spirit of its students and staff.
