The Leader in Me Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll was established to honor schools that have not only achieved and maintained Lighthouse School Certification but have also demonstrated exemplary academic growth or proficiency according to state accountability standards.
The determination of the Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll status was based on data analysis conducted by the independent nonprofit Schooldigger.com. Schooldigger.com specializes in empowering families with reliable data about school performance, utilizing an algorithm that scores schools on a percentile ranking, allowing for fair comparisons across the state.
To achieve academic proficiency recognition, a school must score at or above the 85th percentile for the state's combined proficiency standards. Meeting the academic growth standard requires a school to be at or above the 50th percentile and show a remarkable 5 percent growth from the previous year's percentile ranking.
All six elementary schools within the Northville Public Schools district in Michigan demonstrated exemplary academic proficiency, surpassing the 85th percentile threshold.
