For this Classroom Close-Up, we visited Lynn Gay's Financial Literacy class at Northville High School where the students were learning about investments. They played two games that dealt with Bitcoin and the Stock Market.

Hi, I'm Lynn Gay and I teach Math at the high school, this is a Financial Literacy class. Today we are talking about Investments so we're playing a couple games. We're playing a game about Bitcoin where they have to predict what they think is going to happen based on what's happening in the world with the Bitcoin value and the second one that we're playing is testing their level of tolerance for risk. So if they're investing in the stock market, what is their level of tolerance for risk and I'm asking them to also do some thinking about that in deciding you know answer some questions about it. Come on in. So I'm in Financial Literacy and today we played a Bitcoin game basically we kind of guessed if the Bitcoin would rise or fall or stay the same based off a little prompt that she gave us. Kind of reminds me of when I was younger it's very like hands-on and you know you get to guess and she gives you a little prize at the end. So I think it's kind of like really nice for her to just have us sometimes take a break from like actual work and do stuff like this.
