Classroom Close-Up: Ms. Richert, NHS

For this Classroom Close-Up we tracked down the high school acapella choirs as they were caroling around the district.

Hi guys! I'm Beth Richert the high school choir director and I'm not at the high school right now, I'm actually at Moraine Elementary School because our choirs Backbeat and Treblemakers are caroling around the elementary schools this week and so we're here to do a little assembly for the kids in preparation for our holiday concert next week. So let's take a little listen. Ooooohhh Christmas. dodododo dot dot dot dot The mood is right Simply having a wonderful Christmastime Simply having a wonderful Christmastime. What we've been doing is touring different elementary schools, Backbeat and Treblemakers, the two acapella groups at the high school, and it's really just too to reach out to the kids because we were in that position. I personally remember being at Silver Springs and seeing all the all the high schoolers perform for us and it's really it's really an inspiring thing and it's really cool to see what people can do when they put in hard work. So we're hoping to do the same for these elementary schoolers and inspire them. Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring Snowin' and blowin' up bushels of fun Now the jingle hop has begun So we're singing a huge variety of songs but for this year the ladies are singing a few more quiet, more folk songs, we're seeing a Finnish song which has been an interesting experience and then as well as a classic "All I want for Christmas is You" and another old English song whereas the boys are singing more poppy hits and stuff which I think is a nice blend. My favorite personally is "All I want for Christmas is You" because I get to have a solo in it and I love it, it's a blast. Underneath the Christmas tree. You can see and hear these choirs perform at the NHS Holiday Concert on December 20 and 21. The Gift of Song Holiday Concert will be in the NHS Auditorium.

The NHS Choirs and Bands will perform holiday favorites, a candlelight processional, and the Grand Finale!
