They start each morning with Message Board which is part of High Scope and promotes early learning and tells the students about the daily schedule.

I'm Lydia Robertson. I'm one of the preschool teachers here at Old Village School. I am a pilot classroom for High Scope which is our new curriculum we're doing for preschool. Today's lesson we're going to do is Message Board. Message Board is part of our daily routine for High Scope, it promotes early learning and it tells about our daily schedule for the day. So come on in. Morning friends! Okay how many messages do you see on our board today? Four. Show me four. How else can you show me four? With two hands. Erick is using three fingers and one finger to make four. Alright run run run it's time for message number one! Can you show me one? What do you see for message number one? Who's name starts with C? Connor starts with C. Does anybody else start with C? Christian you start with C too. Whose name ends with R? Connor, do you think that's your name? You have an R, you're right. Let's see Connor, try it out. What letter are you adding? O- N- N- O-  What's that spell? Connor, what does that mean today? Connor is our line leader today. We start with Message Board and it's a lot of fun. We look and we listen and we put our attentive scopes on. We do people's names and they're the line leader. Message three was it was close to December and it was close to some people's birthdays. And each day we take off a chain.
