Please note that we anticipate that school will remain in session at Thornton Creek as scheduled for all elementary and Early Childhood program students, with added precautions taken in light of the boil water advisory. Student lunches will be provided as usual.
During the boil water advisory, we encourage students and staff at Thornton Creek Elementary School to bring bottled water to school and work. The district will also be stocking Thornton Creek with additional bottled water. Drinking fountains will be turned off or covered, and signs will be posted at sinks.
During a boil water advisory, the health department notes that vigorous handwashing with soap and tap water is safe for basic personal hygiene. The district will follow the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control Guidelines for Schools and Childcare Facilities during a water advisory.
For more information and/or updates as they become available, please refer to the City of Novi Notice of Water Main Break and Boil Water Advisory and the City of Novi website.
Please be assured that an update will be provided when the boil water advisory is lifted. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work together as a community for the safety and well-being of students, staff and families.
